Look up a word in a printed book with your iPhone camera. Get its dictionary definition and keep reading. Hold the centre ring over a word for about a second. A green highlight sweeps across it, then the definition opens. Swipe the panel away to return to your book. Inflected words can lead to their dictionary headwords, such as “running” to “run”. Six book languages Choose English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian or German before reading. English definitions are built in. The other five dictionaries are optional downloads. Translations for English books Add an optional translation pack for English words into French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian or German. Translation coverage varies by word. Books in the other five languages show dictionary definitions, without translation. Definitions and equivalents come from Wiktionary. Offline after setup An internet connection is needed to check the language catalog and download a selected dictionary or translation pack. Once installed, those resources work offline. No account or sign-in. Privacy Camera frames and recognized words stay on your iPhone. No analytics or tracking. Language downloads contact the content host, which can receive connection details such as your IP address. Requirements Requires iOS 17 or later. iPhone only.
